Make and mature disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Nutritional Meal Site

Every day, Monday through Friday, our church has been a meal site for more than 40 years. The service of meals to Senior Citizens of our church and community is our christian privilege and responsibility.  Numerous seniors regularly come to Fellowship Hall to share in conversation, fellowship and laughter while partaking in a nutritious hot (or cold picnic type) meal.

Some citizens arrive on the ACTS bus, some drive themselves, and some even walk to the meal site.

Each meal starts with a prayer. Birthdays, holidays and special events are always celebrated.  Anyone 60 years or older is welcome to partake.

Meals are ordered 2 days in advance from Valley Foods in Youngstown, Ohio.  Meals are delivered fresh every day and are then heated to proper temperature and served at 11:30 am.  Diabetic meals and Low Salt meals are provided for those who need them.

In addition to meals served at the meal site, nearly 55 meals are delivered to seniors who are unable to come to the meal site to eat.  There are 2 drivers who deliver these "Meals-on-Wheels".  Each meal is in a divided container with a lid.  Then they are packed with hot stones in coolers for delivery.  Everyone receives a white bag (diabetic) or brown bag (regular diet) with milk, bread and dessert.  The bags are packed in coolers with ice sheets.  All hot food is served at 190 degrees and cold food below 40 degrees.

Ashtabula County Community Action provides these wholesome meals.  There are 4 meal sites in Ashtabula County.

Stop in some day and see what goes on during the meal time.  You might like it so well you’ll order a meal and come join us again in 2 days for only a small donation.
